Know a good hand?
OrbitRoster is a Houston staffing agency that hires through introductions. Send us someone good: when they’ve worked 30 days through us you get $150, and at 90 days $250 more. About half the people we place came to us that way.
Houston’s three orbits: the 610 Loop, about 5 miles out; Beltway 8, about 12; the Grand Parkway, about 25.
$150 at 30 days, $250 more at 90
| The day you send a name | Tell us how to reach them and how you know their work. | |
|---|---|---|
| Next business day | We call them, in English or Spanish. | |
| Usually within two weeks | They start. Longer if they need a TWIC card. | |
| 30 days on the job | Paid to you the Friday after, before tax. | $150 |
| 90 days on the job | Paid to you the Friday after, before tax. | $250 |
The rules
- Anyone can introduce someone, whether or not they work with us, and there’s no limit on how many.
- We pay only for people you introduce yourself, not for the people they go on to introduce.
- If an employer hires your introduction directly before day 90, we still pay you the full $400.
- If you work through us, the bonus goes on your paycheck like any other pay. If you don’t, we’ll ask for a W-9, and send a 1099 if your bonuses for the year pass the IRS reporting threshold.
- We don’t pay a bonus to anyone who works for the client where the person is placed.

The Medical Center work is for the contractors that run environmental services, food, linen and patient transport at several of the hospitals.
Hiring through us
Ask for twelve helpers and several will usually have worked a unit together before. Each one comes with a note on who brought who.
Last quarter 54% of our placements came through an introduction. Each client gets its own numbers every quarter.
Hire through usTerms
We place crews who’ve already worked a shift together. When someone doesn’t show, we backfill by the next shift, and our first call is to whoever introduced them.
We don’t do same-morning backfill on a badged plant site, because orientation and badging come first. Longshore and checker jobs on the terminals go through the union hall, not us.
- Employer of record
- W-2 payroll, unemployment insurance, I-9 and E-Verify, and workers’ comp, which Texas leaves optional and we carry.
- Rates
- One rate sheet per line of work, sent with the first shortlist.
- Conversion
- No fee after 90 days on assignment.
